Introduction of Elizabethan Age

Elizabethan Age (1558-1603)




The Age of Shakespeare  or Elizabethan Age comprises the latter half of the 16th century. It was also called as a golden age in the history of England. It was the flowering period of the Renaissance which was called intellectual revolution. The age is named after Queen Elizabeth who reigned over England during the period 1558-1603. It was also named after Shakespeare (1564-1616) who was the dominating literary figure during the period.
